Willem van Oppen | Opinion
is CPO of Royal KPN, a Dutch telecommunications firm based in The Hague. As well as procurement, he is also responsible for supply chain optimisation and standardisation. He joined the company in 2003 from Philips, where he was a senior vice-president of procurement. Prior to that, Willem worked for the chemical company DSM, heading up US sales and marketing and Japanese manufacturing.
John Campi | Interview
is executive vice-president and CPO, global sourcing, at Chrysler LLC, the privately owned auto maker, where he is responsible for worldwide purchasing and supplier quality. He joined the firm in January 2008 having spent several years as CPO of retailer The Home Depot and DuPont. Prior to that, he worked in senior sourcing roles at GE Power Systems. John has also run his own consulting firm, Genesis.
Nicolas Reinecke | Supplier development
is a principal at McKinsey & Company in Hamburg and leads the firm’s global purchasing and supply management practice. Since joining McKinsey in 1996, he has focused on operations assignments with a particular focus on manufacturing and procurement, and has worked out of its offices in New York and Silicon Valley. As well as two degrees, Nico has a PhD in energy and chemical engineering.
Neil Deverill | Procurement’s status
now runs his own consulting and coaching business, having recently left the mining giant Anglo American, where he was the CPO. Prior to joining the company in 2002 he spent 12 years heading up procurement functions at Philips in the Netherlands, Electrolux in Sweden and for the British government. Neil has also lived and worked in Taiwan and South Africa. This is his second article for CPO Agenda.
Pierre Mitchell | Capability development
is senior research director at The Hackett Group, where he is responsible for leading its development of intellectual property in procurement. He joined the firm in November 2004, having spent five years as vice-president of supply management research at AMR Research. His industry experience includes roles as manufacturing project manager at Timberland and materials manager at Krupp.
Andrew Cox | Benchmarking
is chairman of Newpoint Consulting and a visiting professor at the University of San Diego. Until recently, he was the CIPS professor and director of the Centre for Business Strategy and Procurement at Birmingham Business School in the UK, where he created and ran a leading MBA programme. Andrew is a prolific author, speaker and thinker in this field and a regular contributor to CPO Agenda.
